Well this is embarrassing; ANYWHO, Life for the past few months.

I last posted on Dec 15th.

It’s now Feb 23rd.

2017.

Nervous cough.

ANYWHOO; moving right along.

Life’s been good. It’s been nice to be relaxing and living and feeling better. We had a new years eve party at our house, just a small one, which was fun. The weeks kinds blur between thanksgiving and new years huh?!

We headed to Australia mid Jan to get some baby squeezes in cause Y’ALL I GOT A NEW NIECE.

SHE’S SO BEAUTIFUL.

img_3389

She was born Jan 11th. And a few days after we headed out to meet her.

*Cue the huge amount of photos*

img_3364

Aus was, as always, amazing and fun and way to short a trip. Catching up, squeezing kiddos, nights out, Sleep overs with Nieces, and first days of pre school and family pictures. See below.

PC to my amazing brother who’s a pretty dang good photographer:)

img_3531 img_3565 img_3553

We headed out of LAX while it was raining and freezing and 40, and landed at 9am in humid, sticky 95. Seth almost died.

Actually he almost died twice in the first day. Once when we landed and the other when he found out my parents DO NOT have AC, and the only spare fan was actually a heater that had fan element and was the size of a radio. Poor kid never saw it coming.

img_3445 img_3446 img_3645

We’re back at home now and into trying to FINALLY finish the house. I laugh that I told myself it would take 2 weeks.. HAHAHA*SOB*.

This year I am going to try and work on being better about posting, but posting things of value and not just rambles. Hopefully I’ll get my new year thoughts and goals up here soon and some other stuff.

img_3483 img_3307 img_3282

What about you guys? Did you all have a safe and happy Christmas/new year/ VALENTINE break?

*HOW did I go this long, my stars*

Cue awkward stage exit.

AND A FEW MORE FOR GOOD MEASURE.

Fall.. Were’d ya go?

I got lied too and I kinda lied, too.

First off, I was told it’s “fall”. Which means “cooler weather” and nice leaves.

SOCAL HAS NO FALL PEOPLE.

It’s the end of Oct and it was over 30/88 yesterday.

Anyway, I was telling everyone, and myself, that fall was going to be slower and cooler and a lot less busy.

Ha.

Ha.

Ha

HA. HA. HA.

I have kinda been awol from here the last few weeks. Life just keeps charging on.

Some of the last months highlights are, but are not limited too;

Family visiting, organizing and running a youth weekend, family nights and doubles dates, getting a bad head cold, my first ever pumpkin patch trip, having a yard sale, getting two migraines, friends visiting, dr visits, blood tests, Graduation Dinners, KBC planning, baby parties and the like.

All so good.

Well. Maybe not the cold, mirage, dr bits.

But the rest was fab.

A few things this month;

Like I said above, we went to a pumpkin patch, my first one EVER. And it was awesome:)

I went to my first ever college ball game with some lovelies, which was just as fun.

photo-2

Although, I know NOTHING of what they are doing. They just seems to run and tackle each other all the time, no matter who has the ball…?

And I hit SIX MONTHS since my treatment, which has me JUMPING for joy.

Really. Cause now I can- well, Me minus the head cold can 😉

Six months seems like a pretty big milestone. I can eat more and do more and BE more now, and its super. I’ll have an update coming.. when I get the chance!.. but I’m doing well!

Lastly….

I BOOKED FLIGHTS HOME.

Yes kids, we are heading down in the new year and pretty excited. The Hub even gets to come too, Hurrah!

I get to see these faces again!

We got friends to see and new babes to squeeze and a whole lotta talking and kisses to cram into three weeks.

The weeks have been FLYING by. Which is always good, so long as they slow when we are there. Ha.

Hopefully I’ll grab 10 post again soon, but in the mean time;

I’m not dead, I don’t get Gridiron, Fall is just longer summer and I’m going home.

Love,

New Little *October-were’d-you-go?* Wife

Moving Countries 101.

world-map

By now you probably know this, and are most likely dang sick of me talking about this, but I moved from Aus to SoCal a few years ago to smooch this kid and get him for life.
So moving countries is something that I have done and at the ripe old age of 19.

Lately I have heard of a few people about to do the same.

So I thought I would write a post on Moving Countries 101.

Here we go Kids;

Firstly, Gather all your plans, ideas and time frames, make a nice neat pile… and then light them on fire. It’s not going to go like this, AT ALL. I think we had major plan changes every week in the first few months. In then end, ya kinda wing it. Enjoy the ride;)

Realize that homesickness is a big real thing, and embrace it.

You’re gonna get it, that’s for sure, so here are some tips to help ya;

Find the familiar. Something that reminds you of home, maybe a food, drink, place, people who have moved too ect. FYI If you live in Cali, World Market sells GOOD ginger beer and Target has the things you need to make  lemon, lime bitters, the kinda from home. You’re Welcome;)

Get a good phone plan *with unlimited data* And then download whats app & Skype.
No but really. These babies are you lifeline. Plus, if you can, get the plan that allows call to landlines for cheap. You need this more than you first realize.
Be honest with your partner. If you moved for someone, be honest with them. Not in the I HATE LIVING HERE way, although Seth has heard that PLENTY before *cause on the rough days, let’s be real, you kinda do. Ha.*
Just tell them what your thinking. Things like; “Im really homesick today, so if I am down, that’s why” “I just need to step back and find some familiar things” “I dont hate you, living here, or anything, I am just missing home” ect ect. It’s rough for them too, and they can often feel bad seeing you in a flood of tears telling them over and over that you “Just want to go to Audley Park!”. Ask us how we know;)
Anyway, Hope these little tips help!

Get lost. No really, get lost. Drive around your new place and lose yourself. It helps to see your surroundings, helps you to learn about where you are and what its like. *If you move to downtown LA or Chicago, maybe take a friend, or seven;)*

Join Community Events. Moving countries isn’t the best ever thing for ones social life, believe it or not. In fact, it down right sucks. So get out there, find new people, make new friends. Go to community things, have dinner with your neighbors, go out with work friends and meet people. This is SO important. It’s VERY easy to get lonely and feel pretty down that you don’t know anyone.

Change you mindset. Look at this as an adventure, a new experience, a plot twist, a whole new start over. If you try to mesh, compare or over analyze you’ll wind up sad, annoyed and hating were you live. So don’t.
Appreciate what you can, learn about your new place, and grow like crazy. There comes a point were it really hits you, about a year in, and trust me, you’re gonna wanna leave, if you can, push thru. You’ll be stronger for it.
It’s hard NOT to compare. Really, it is. And sometimes you have to, because you have to live somewhere, so looking at the pros and cons of each place is kinda a must, try to dwell MORE on the pros of where you are living at that time.

And lastly, Call ya mum. Or your dad. Or your brother. Or your niece. Make sure you have regular contact with everyone you love at home. This helps you to feel like you are still a part of their lives.

It’s rough, really. It’s kinda crazy, and those growing pains hurt like hell sometimes but it so fun, fulfilling and just good.

Plus this guy is SO WORTH IT.

Jolly June; Recaps.

Our June was simply insane.

I was (& am still) in recovery from all the “fun” I had in April & May with my insides, which meant I was tired and hungry most of the month.. with a few days of my body reminding me that I was meant to be “resting”.. Something I am horrid at.

So we kicked off June in in some what of a tired haze… And then quickly launched  to full steam.

I had some super fun beach days with this stunner..

IMG_0972IMG_0971

This Hunk had a birthday..

IMG_1134

And this kid graduated High School all the the one week..

IMG_1034

This beauty was baptized.. We made us ALL give praise hands. Welcome Sista Chlo.

IMG_0990

And this one had her Bridal night..

IMG_1075

Which lead to her getting hitched to this guy a week later…

IMG_1095

It was a super fun, love filled day and she looked simply STUNNING!

IMG_1124

I mean. Drop. Dead. Gorgeous.

After all these festivities, we wanted more of a chill week before we packed up and headed to Hawaii for the last week of June.

Hawaii was awesome and relaxing and so so fun. So nice to spend some time with some of the people we love most!

Here are a few fun pictures of our time there:)

So July is off to a big start too!! But we are hopefully winding down and August is looking a little less crazy, which is sounding oh so nice.

Of course, while all this was going on, I also decided we needed to paint our house. Ha.

So look out for house reno posts in the near future;)

Love,

How was your june? Busy? Happy? Hope it was swell!!

Goings on + I’m Leaving.

Hello Kiddos!

Sorry I have kinda not been all here lately, this month has been stupidly busy and we are not even done yet. We have had weddings and friends stay and crazy work schedules and sickness and all.

This summer is looking to be pretty busy. I know, i’m meant to be relaxing, and I really am, just in-between the crazy. Ha.

This week we have had super hot weather, more on that later (I have a funny story about some fish) but we are busy packing up for a trip to…..

HAWAII.

We are having a big family vacay to Hawaii this week, and I am SO excited.

It’s going to be SO SO nice.

However, I have decided that I am going to spend the whole time off line. No posting or writing or anything.

So for the new two weeks i’m going to be MIA…

Well, not really, I’ll be on the beach reading.

I did snag some good book deals so I have *8* to take with me. Seth thinks I am insane.

I will be back at it with a bunch of good stuff for you guys including a wrap up of June ( It’s been a super fun, crazy month!) & a cool post I ( AND SETH!) have been working on.

But for now, bring on the leis and Pina Coladas.

See ya in two weeks!

IMG_0711

And I finally got to see these ladies after TWO YEARS. Sob. Although one was traveling Europe for a year and the other is simply phenomenal at her job and just never free. So it wasn’t all my fault 😉

Thank You.

So I’m state side again.

Im happy, sad, nervous, ready to get back into it.. but mainly.

Excited.

I’m so excited about all the possibilities this treatment opens up.

Healthy body.

Able to be Active.

Eat REAL food! Haha!! But Really..

I also want to take some time to say thank you.

Thank you to all of you who have prayed, sent messages, cards, packages. It all means so much to me. You guys have all overwhelmed me with so much love and support, its amazing and i’m just SO thankful for it.

Seth and I are so blessed to have such an amazing network of friends & family around the world. We have really loved and appreciated it all.

There are so many people I would love to thanks right now.. my friends for always choosing resturants I can eat at, my brother for all the advice on treatment, my lovely in laws for letting me nap on their couches, not batting an eyelid at all the times I threw up in their bathroom and always being ready to help out in any way, my sisters and close friends ect…

However, I would not be here in recovery today if not for three main people.

To my Dad;

For always believing in my symptoms, no matter how insane they sounded. For knowing what it feels like to be completey exhausted. For showing me what a resilient person looks like and how to keep going when you feel like you can’t. For being so interested and invovled in my health. I have never known a father who asks about their child’s bowel movemnts as much as you do. I love you.

To my Husband;

For never complaining about how many oils, herbs & vitamins I dragged into the house. For eating vegan food like a champ. For always being supportive and kind. Thanks for all the long nights you stayed with me, all the heat bags you heated up, the times you held my hair back, the sleepless nights and constant sickness and cleaning up the house when I simply couldn’t.

I know it hasnt been easy for you having a sick girlfriend/wife and I know you have missed out on a lot because of it, so thank you. You really are the best. Thanks for understanding. I love you.

And To my Mumma;

For being my biggest advocate, not only in my health, but in all my life. For never stopping until you found someone who could make me better. For the 6am starts, the many tests, dr after dr and waiting room after waiting room. For all the times you have slept in those hospital chairs. For curling up next to me and rubbing my back. For helping me when “it was over flowing”.  I know it hasnt been easy, cheap or the funnest time of your life, but thanks for sticking by me.. Even when I got married and moved half way round the world, you have always been there.

You are the perfect example of a loving, steadfast, faithful mother. It takes an amazing woman to be able to come out of the last ten years still in one piece. You amaze me Mum.  I love you.

So heres to the future.

To healthy bodies.

To new adevnture.

To amazing friends, and the most supportive family.

To a Good God who looks after me all to well.

Love,

New Little *Improved* Wife

Treatment up dates + I broke a record.. Kinda..

Again I apologies for being a bit MIA.

This week had been crazy busy and I have been still in treatment.. Up until yesterday!

THAT’S RIGHT.

I AM DONE.

Happy dances all around.

IMG_0724

This exciting moment warranted a ginger tea at a little cafe near the hospital.

This last week was better than the first few, I had more energy and a little more pep but i did manage to start getting sick.. which is terrible timing. Im hoping to kick it before i fly out, but seeings as thats in two days *eeeekkkkkk* I’m not sure whats going to happen.

Oh well. Im just excited not to be in this little bed filling out those forms any more. IMG_0691.JPG

I also broke a record, kinda.

My laptop started acting up at the start of this trip. I got my brother to have a look at it, but it got worse. Until it wouldn’t turn on or even respond to touch.

I took it down to the apple store. And explained to them what had happened.

Once the guy did his magic thing with all the cords and extra stuff and he got up and running…

His eyes went huge.

And he made a noise that made me laugh. Then cry.

“You just broke our record for the most number of things WRONG with a laptop.”

He turns to his co worker and points to the screen, his eyes also go like saucers.

“See all those little red flashing icons… Its not good”

Half an hour later, and crying inside. I left. With a my little laptop and having been told all my data lost.

Let me repeat that. All data lost.

Please lets all take a moment silence.

It did teach me a little lesson on the value of “things” and make me realise that possessions are just that.. possessions. There are FAR more important things is the world, and far WORSE things to happen than to have a problems with your laptop .

It was a good reality check and made me re asses just how much time, value and importance I give to the “things” that I have. We are going to have to leave it all one day hey.

However, six years of photos and documents and work and all that jazz gone. Thats not a happy feeling.

I should mention my brother more on this blog. He’s great.

I came home, Mac in hand. And told him the verdict. And whined about my lost everything.

Long story short, 2 laptops hacked open, parts and screws everywhere, cables yanked,  much insides re arranging, a back up drive & 20 hours later, he manages to recover everything.

Everything.

If you have a tech nerd in your house, hug them. They really do save the day.

Hurrah for brothers that can fix electronics!

The rest of this trip, which is fast coming to a close, will be resting, packing, and squeezing little ones.

I’ll up date you on the more *non health related* side of things later.

But for now, I’m just going to be enjoying my last few days here with my lovely family.

Love,

New Little *Record-Breaking* Wife

The hotel….

My Dad reminded me the other day That I promised I would tell you all about THE hotel at phoenix, the one we stayed at when we went traveling in  Jan 2015.

And so I shall.

Lets begin.

We had been driving all day, and everywhere I googled was full.. Sounding familiar;)                            We passed a place which was, at best, a run down shack. And by the looks of it better known for other, more illegal, things rather than a hotel.

Having driven around, we found a road with a few hotels, and passing down pulled into a driveway of one. We should have driven away as soon as we pulled up, but we didn’t, and I went into the lobby. It was only for one night and we were all tired, so we booked it.

Well. Upon opening the door to the rooms we were almost flattened by the smell we faced. It was awful. It mixture of mouldy musty sweaty stale air knocked us over. The bathroom was cleaned possibly earlier that year, and maybe the carpet too.

There was a chair in the corner that came off the ark, and one window in the wall which gave us enough light to squint and see the horrid wallpaper.

We all agreed it was not the best in the world. But had booked and paid. And our stomach told us that we better find something to eat. As we walked out of the hallway we ran into some people who quickly finished their business” transaction, and fled. In opposite directions.

We sought shelter in the loving arms of  an “islands” restaurant up few streets away, and there thought about all the ways we could possibly avoid going back to the hotel.

Perhaps we could sleep on the benches there? Or lock ourselves in the restrooms for the night?

But alas, with large bellies, and rather larger fears of what lay ahead of us, we retreated back to the hotel. And began our night.

We said goodbye.. I mean.. good night.. In the hallway. I gave my parents an extra big hug, thanked them for raising me, and with a tear, went inside.

We got ready for bed. I was positive there was bed lice. Seth told me it was fine. So I shuffled in.

We lay there. Me pondering how we were ever going to get home when its certain that the car would be stolen by the morning. Seth making jokes about the lingering smell.

Then began the noise. From next door.

Now, look. I understand couples have arguments, but my word, this was something else. So for the next 2 hours we listened to  whole conversation of who had said what and when and how and who cheated on who.. We both went in and out of sleep.. Waking when the woman reached the decibel of 1893.

Well apparently forgiveness much have ensued shortly after, because another loud noise came from behind our heads, complete with thuds and all.

Seth mumbled something about giving it a break, and we tried to get back to sleep… It was 3am. We had survived this far.

The sleep was short-lived, when at 4am I heard two men, ridiculous drunk, tried to open out hotel door with their key.

I sat bolt up right it bed. Heart racing. They sounded like they were charging the door. I elbowed Seth, who woke up with a start.

SOME ONE IS TRYING TO GET IT?! I silently yelled.

“What the HECK it that noise?!” He says.

It stops.

We wait. In the dark.

DUDE, Drunk one says. IS THIS EVEN OUR ROOM?!

I can assure you, sir, that it is not, said the voice in my head.

MAYBE NOT. Drunk man two replies.

They stop the terror attack on our door, and proceed to laugh all the way down the hallway, banging on every possible surface.

We turn and stare at each other.

4;30 am and still clinging to life. We lay back down.

By this stage, with little sleep had, and several heart attacks under my belt, I am tired and grumpy. I slowly drift off to sleep.

7am comes around and the ridiculous piece of TP they have hanging near the window, which I assume is meant to be a curtain, not only blocks NO light but in some magical way somehow creates more.

We awake. Me, to tiredness but overall relief, Seth to the sound of some kind of commotion under our window.

I turn to him. We are leaving. Pack up. I’m done.

He laughs. But agrees.

Now, they had said something about providing a breakfast. So Seth comments that while I scramble around packing, he is going to eat. He goes down the hallway to the breakfast “room”.

I while later I hear a knock at the door.

Sweet mercy He’s been shot. My head voice says.

I open, and see my parents.

Sweet tears of joy fill my eyes.

We hug. The reunion is sweet.

We make comments about out nights and on earth was going on in the hall way. Dad says that they heard some kind of siren this morning.

Seth returns. Laughing. Informing us that the breakfast “room” is a corner in the lobby. And that it offers us the stunning choice of stale corn flakes, pre frozen muffins, canned orange juice and some kind of liquid he assumes is coffee.

Thinking that starvation is the better choice, we refrain from partaking.

We pack and walk out to the car park to find two things;

One, much to our surprise, our car has remained in tack. I say a prayer of thanks.

Two; there is two police cars, three police man and some people hand cuffed on the ground.

We turn back to our car.

You have never in your life seen such speedy packing of a car and such an amazing car maneuvering as you did in that moment.

We left. Lives in tact. Laughter filling the car.

If you want some thrill in your life, I can recommended a place;)

Travels: Sedona, AZ.

My parents are in town, FYI. Which would be the explanation as to why its been so quiet on the blog.

Not, however, in my house.

Non stop insanity began the day they landed.

We had a crazy week with catching up, and an awesome bible study weekend at church, before heading out with them to Sedona, AZ.

Its my parents, my in-laws & the hubs and I.

It’s bliss.

For starters, we don’t all get to spend a lot of time together.
Other sides of the world and all that.

And also, Sedona is just stunning. Seriously.

Its been pretty chilly. Hence the snow. But so so pretty. The town is so very cute and the creation is just amazing.

Plus, the people go alright too;)
